About Azle Craft MallThe Azle Craft Mall was the very first craft mall in America. Opened in 1988 by the Coomer family, it became part of a chain of craft malls owned and operated by the family for over 15 years. The craft mall changed names 3 times while still in the Coomer family. It originally opened as "The Crafters Mall", then "Coomers Craft Mall" and finally "American Craft Mall" until 2005 when it was purchased by the Faris family and changed to "Azle Craft Mall". In December of 2005, Ruby Red's Antiques, just 2 stores down, was forced to close their doors as they were unable to negotatiate a new lease with their landlord. At the same time, owner Mark Faris partnered with his mother, Nancy Ronk, to operate the Craft Mall as his computer business, Azle Computer Services, was taking off faster than he could keep up with. This left Mark free to focus on the computer business yet still be available to assist Nancy with operations of the craft mall behind the scenes. During the Spring, Brenda Diane, owner of the now closed Ruby Red's, joined with Nancy and moved her infamous "Ruby Red's" into the Craft mall, along with many of her past vendors. Together, Nancy and Brenda Diane have created a perfect balance of antiques and crafts to justify the new name, Azle Antique & Craft Mall! |
